About Me

FINDING
MY VOICE

It was a long and winding road that led me to discover my love of voice over but I believe that all the barriers in my life were miracles pointing me in a direction I could not see.

Suzannah's Story

Suzannah Laski has a warm, intelligent, dynamic voice and audiobook fluency in French, Spanish, and Korean. These assets along with her grasp of accents allow her to tackle a wide range of characters. Her health science background also enables her to grasp medical terminology with ease, so both science and science fiction are well within her abilities. She is a member of the Audio Publishers Association.

In her spare time she enjoys reading and writing and has participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) since 2009. As a child she used to pick random words from the dictionary and try to incorporate them into a cohesive story (with mixed success). She has worked as a receptionist, accounts manager, wellness specialist, certified health education specialist and personal trainer, food pathologist, freelance writer, technical writer, and has finally found her calling as a voice over actor.

Wellness, in all its dimensions, has always played a central theme in her life, so when she found herself unexpectedly debilitated by a chronic illness, her priority became to find her way around the barriers. While she can no longer participate in the physical activities she used to love, such as kickboxing and dancing (ballroom, belly, and dancing for fun with friends), she has found that voicing characters is a great way to release the bound energy her mind still stores. In her words:

“Life happens. Even to lifelong learners. So when chronic illness set in, I thought my life was officially over. I couldn’t learn, I couldn’t share, and I couldn’t work. I couldn’t even do the thing I loved to do the most: read! At one point, I couldn’t even grasp spoken words. So instead I watched foreign TV shows, and subconsciously started to develop an ear for languages. Then I discovered the world of voice over…

That discovery teamed with medication, physical therapy, and time, has helped me re-learn lost skills and find my new path. I’ve always cherished the written word but through my illness and recovery, I have found deeper dimensions of the spoken word. I believe only a good VO artist can bring those dimensions to life. I strive to be a great VO artist. It is said that becoming a master in any field takes a minimum of ten years of continual practice. I plan to do this for the rest of my life.”

What my clients say about me

I love what I do and deliver my best for every project I undertake but you don’t have to take my word for it!

"I am very impressed with Suzannah’s talents and professionalism. First, she did an amazing job with my particular southern dialect. By the way, that is not an easy feat. The way she pronounced the words and how they flowed made my stories come to life. And it was a pleasure working with her."
"You did an amazing job [for the first book]. Funny thing, I actually heard your voice in my head as I was editing this second book."
